I love an in-home family session! With small kiddos, it’s the very best way to get natural, beautiful photos. Little ones feel so much more comfortable in their own space than in a studio, so it’s easier to get those elusive real smiles to come out, and the ability to take a snack break now and then is fantastic! Family photography sessions, like most things in life, work best when they’re laid back and carefree.
I photographed the Dobson’s older son, Jack, when he was a new baby, so it was a real treat to come back and photograph their growing family as they recently welcomed baby Cal into the world! I love watching the families that I work with grow and change. Capturing your stories over time is hands down my favorite thing to do as your photographer.
5-week-old baby Cal was such a happy, patient guy throughout our session! And it’s clear that he has one great, loving big brother to show him how it’s done. (Just look at the way Cal looks at his big bro in that first photo – my heart!). Congratulations on your growing family, Dobsons!
