Sonnenberg Gardens wedding photos are what my dreams are made of. I’ll always think that Sonnenberg Gardens is one of the most elegant wedding venues in Canandaigua, NY and truly all of the Finger Lakes. It is full of historic buildings and promenades, European-style formal gardens, and beautiful spots for inspiring wedding portraits.
Caroline and Jordan had originally planned a large wedding, but with the pandemic causing so much uncertainty in 2020, they changed their vision. They decided to hold an intimate event for closest friends and family this year, and plan a larger celebration next summer. These two are a perfect example of how the unexpected change of plans this year created so many personalized, unique, and beautiful weddings! Caroline swapped her wedding gown for an ethereal jumpsuit designed by Rime Arodaky. (Can we TALK about this jumpsuit?!). The wedding ceremony was held during morning mass at the Canandaigua, NY church Caroline attended growing up, and the evening included a laid back yet incredibly elegant celebration at Sonnenberg Gardens and a tented dinner at New York Kitchen for their closest loved ones.
One of my favorite things about Sonnenberg Gardens weddings is that there is a built in activity for your guests during any down time between the ceremony and cocktail hour or reception. Touring the grounds and historic mansion! I could (and have) spent all day quietly wandering the gardens and Victorian glasshouses filling up on inspiration and sunshine.
I’d love to hear where you’ll be getting married and talk about how I can help you capture the day.
